The Practice & The Land
Living and working on Lingít Aaní (Juneau, Alaska), the ancestral homelands of the Tlingit people, my practice as an artist and designer is rooted in a deep conversation with place. As the founder of Liaise Studio, I operate from the belief that creative work acts as a true liaison—a bridge connecting raw environmental inspiration, intentional design, and our community.
While my fine art explores the physical and emotional landscapes of the North through traditional mediums and hand-foraged botanical pigments, that same reverence for materials shapes every facet of the studio.
Design, Strategy, & Structure
Behind the organic, tactile nature of my art lies a rigid foundation of architectural and spatial discipline. Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies and a Master of Fine Arts in Museum Exhibition Planning and Design, I bring over a decade of experience in visual communication, master planning, and project management.
At Liaise Studio, design is not just about aesthetics; it is about seamless execution. Whether shaping museum exhibits, developing visual brand identities, or managing large-scale creative projects, I combine spatial awareness and technical rigor to translate complex ideas into clear, functional realities.
The Storefront & Community
Creative practice thrives when it is shared. Located in Juneau’s historic Senate Mall, our brick-and-mortar storefront serves as a physical anchor for Liaise Studio. It was built to be a welcoming gathering space for local makers, stocked with a carefully vetted selection of specialty art supplies, unique stationery, and tactile tools that I use and trust in my own practice.
Whether foraging materials along the coast, building project schedules for clients, or hosting neighbors in the shop, my goal remains the same: to cultivate meaningful connections through exploration, discipline, and the power of artistic expression.
