Christine Carpenter

Visual Artist & Natural Pigment Maker
Art as a liaison to connect us to the land and to one another.

Living and working on Lingít Aaní (Juneau, Alaska), the ancestral homelands of the Tlingit people, my fine art practice explores the physical and emotional landscapes of the North. At the heart of my work is a dedication to foraging materials and hand-crafting natural pigments. While not all of my pieces are made from these raw elements, this tactile process entirely grounds my practice—serving as a way to deeply connect with the land and bring its rhythms, textures, and history into everything I create.
